Scobee Family
"Colonel Richard Scobee and his wife Janis are proud to serve Fort Worth as the 301st Fighter Wing Commander and First Lady of Carswell. Richard is a Texas native and has served over 24 years in the U.S. Air Force, including 6 combat tours. His most recent was to Iraq for 7 months. He is a graduate of the Air Force Academy and received his MBA from the University of South Carolina. Janis, a Kentucky native, is a recent graduate from the Culinary School of Fort Worth and will be opening a private chef company soon. She has also been instrumental in reinvigorating the Key Spouse Program for the base, a program that supports the families of deployed members. Rich and Janis both feel that there is no place that embraces the military quite like Fort Worth. Our ties to the community are much stronger here than any place we’ve been before."
